Because that would require adaptation. A skill change lowers the bar for those who can't adapt. It puts everyone on the same level of skill for a few...minutes. So, those who can't adapt should be crying for Anet to change skills, asap!
it's not adaptation man, it's copying. If a skill is broken, everyone uses it, and players dont have fun anymore playing pvp coz everyone play the same shit.

Try not to post if it's in order to say insanity like u just did, thx

Update is not here? TOUGH. Come back next week
Unless you are sad little person without any responsibilities in RL
Are u retarted ? plz, re-read my post. or read the explanation fowlero did. Have fun with ur game next week, i probably wont be there anymore, neither will i be in 3 years on gw2 release. Bnet didnt disapoint me with D2 in 6 years, but Anet did so many times in only 4 years. The choice will be easy between D3 and GW2.

Funny how you quote the first part of my post, but not the second, only to place your comment on "it's Anet's fault".

It'd be nice if they made this a good update. We've waited 2 months.

Beginning to lose faith in the community...

You don't need to PvP to see that every team is running the SAME BROKEN SHIT over and over again. Either you run it yourself or(and :P) you lose to it.

Imagine if Anet superbuffed all the mobs in PvE so that the only way you could beat it was by doing cryway. You'd get sick of running the same build over and over again.

So don't bring that shit in about us 'whining', we do it for a reason. Again and again people playing 5-6 hours a day, every day are giving Anet advice on how to improve the game, but they ignore us and make stupid changes and seem surprised when we get angry.

All we want is a meta with build variety (as in there aren't one or two builds that dominate all the others). Sure we'd like a little shake up every couple of months to keep things fresh but nothing drastic...

It's really baffling how Anet can screw up balance so badly.

My fantasy update: PvE-only skills have been removed from the game.

I'd be happy.

In all seriousness

You PvE'ers want to discuss the update? Ok...here we go.

Hopefully, they will nerf the following - [mirror of ice], [lingering curse], [warrior's endurance], [shadow fang], [hunter's shot]. [keen arrow], [peace and harmony], and slightly nerf all mass enchant removal.

They will in all probability buff some very random elites that no one uses - see page 2 of the thread for my thoughts on this.

In all honesty, they will nerf...probably 4 or 5 of what the PvP community wants. They will then superbuff something, who knows, and it will be overpowered. We shall then have to bear with a shitty meta for 2 months of whatever godly overbuffed skill is used.

Also, what could Anet give the PvP playerbase that make it happier? Make mATs every 3 months or so, so as to give the tournament some actual significance, and regular (monthly) skill updates.

Skill updates make this game fun.

Funny how you didn't respond to the second part of my post, where I explained why it is their fault thus explaining why the PvP community has every right to act the way they do (thus responding to your post).

Actually I played quite a few GvGs recently with old guild members. We all came to the same conclusion at the end...Anet screwed up due to dumb crap like this (among other reasons). I had fun just because I was talking with friends, not because of the game itself. I used to have fun playing this game.

QQ over skill balances died a long time ago. Everyone knows what to expect now regarding the quality of the updates. The absolute absence of "balance" within them.

PS.
Regina, how hard could it be to increase normal ladder k values, increase daily AT rating values, and increase the amount of Daily Automated Tournament time slots for both the Europe and the Americas? Both need more prime time play opportunities.

I wouldn't be surprised if Linsey were to pull something quite big out of the May update. She's given a lot (understatement) to the PvE community in April, it was a huge update, and she hasn't answered my question on her wikipage about the imbalance of updates (relative imbalance when you consider PvP is only 10% population-wise...), BUT she said during her interview on Sanitarium that she loves PvP a lot, possibly more than PvE.

I know people will say I'm a PvEr, a PvP noob, or an utopian, but yet I think Linsey is awesomely good. Just hope the slight delay means it's going to be allright.

People obviously don't see the advantages that PvP can bring to this game that PvE can not. One of the main reasons people are buying PvP based accounts and other accounts is for the XTH. This is proven when all of you say, IDC about the skill update I just want my points. You wouldn't get your points if it wasn't for the high end gvgers and HBers. So yea, tell us to shut up, we'll quit your little game and you can have fun not having XTH rewards.

And since guild wars doesn't have a monthly fee, they need money. Do you wanna know what the best possible way for Anet to make money off of guild wars would be? To have competitive tournaments focused around GvG that brought in outside sponsors. Competitive gaming is becoming a large market. Just look at the MLG tournaments for some games. If Guild Wars balanced GvG correctly, they would bring a lot more interest into this game which would grab the attention of sponsors. Sorry to inform you, PvE does not have the ability to do this. Only PvP does.

That is why ANET hasn't completely given up on the PvP community like some of you suggest they should. They realize it has the possibility to make them a lot of money. They are just dumb and have no knowledge of how to execute it, and then get their feelings hurt when we yell at them about it.

And if you think all of what I am saying is crap just look back at the guru tourney. Pretty sure they got sponsors for that so they could supply RL prizes. If Anet played their cards right, times that sponsor ship ten-fold. They'd be making good money and the PvP player base would be competing for real prizes and competition would be at an all time high.

This

I've spoken to Linsey ingame and whenever she has time she's happy to discuss things with people and i see her put alot into the game.

Anet could do with a few more people like Linsey.

I understand the need for skill updates, but the way people react because its delayed isnt worth contemplating suicide over. While it would be nice if it was today rather than next week you'd think with some of the posts here Anet have a personal vedetta agaisnt PvP'ers.

I agree, although this could also mean we could just be opening ourselves to a world of a shattered dreams. Sometimes it's better to keep things hush-hush in case you RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO it up.

I would really like to see that post-it wall of hers though.

- Right-o! Adding to the list: monthly tournaments into quarter year tournaments to please the PvP community. More skill updates which will infuriate the community, yet make the game fun. Also continue the dartboard sessions, it will be much faster so that the update gets live on time.

I haven't seen them a whole lot lately, but she's a Spearman, they used to be one of the more entertaining HA guilds.

People overrate balances too... I mean is everyone really going to be so happy and come back to the game once honor balance takes the top spot? The meta already brought dom back, once WE dies we'll have regular warriors again, and smiters aren't that great and easy to nerf. What makes GvG dull is all the 8v8 going on, and the mode mechanics are more at fault there than any particular skill. Case in point, buffing mind blasters further isn't going to do anything positive.

Yea I bet the only thing Anet employees do everyday is finding a reason why to postpone the next update. They come to the office to drink coffee, have a little chit-chat, play cards, update something on Wiki and go home. 5 days a week

Someone said a balanced game was stale. Thats not true, and if you think thats balance then you don't even know what the word means. Im not gonna quote anyone cause isee too many random pve'ers commenting on things they don't really understand.

You can't say that the pvp community is going out of its way to just hate the updates. Anet will give us a few phenominal things and then rebuff some more stuff that will totally screw things up a whole new way. Its not our fault the people balancing the game have brain damage. Don't blame us for being disgruntled. I really didn't care about it before, but now that its gotten to the point where only a few builds are viable...its just unbearable....

And so many of you are saying stuff like they don't even really have to update, blah blah....be thankful. Im not gonna be thankful for them doing their job, im gonna be thankful for them doing their job above and beyond the competition (but this hasn't happened). Also, yeah you are right....i guess they don't have to update. Thats why 95% of the serious competition in this game quit playing.

And im not gonna start yelling about pve vs pvp argument cause its stupid. As i recall, when the game came out it was suppose to be really pvp geared. It doesn't bother me that anet wants to cater to the crowd that plays the game (pve), but half the reason there is no pvp is all their fault. They could at least try to do at least something....i mean its honestly not as hard as they are making it.

Any mass removal or some mass apply skills, 40 copies of party heals, skillbars that can do a billion things at once and WELL (aka mesmer/monk smiters)...these are all things that should just be destroyed. Kinda dumb how split builds can't really run any snare anymore because pnh is antigank godmode.

So with the limited amount of people on the panel maintaining this aspect of the game you'd figure they would pluck a select few from the community, to discuss and play test skill tweaks like it was back in 2005-2006. Wouldn't cost a dime for Anet.
